Solicitors in Dunbartonshire

Dunbartonshire is a county in west central Scotland, lying just south of the River Clyde and just to the north and west of the city of Glasgow. The county has since 1996 been divided into two administrative areas, East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire. The two areas have a mix of sites of interest as well as towns. East Dunbartonshire is home to Campsie Fells and the Forth and Clyde Canal. Key towns in East Dunbartonshire include Lennoxtown and Bearsden. West Dunbartonshire features Loch Lomond and Dumbarton Castle, and includes the towns of Renton, Dumbarton and Alexandria. Dumbarton is purported to be the site of the remains of Robert the Bruce.

The Dunbartonshire area is home to around 200,000 inhabitants, with around 90,000 in West Dunbartonshire and 110,000 in East Dunbartonshire. Much of the local economy is driven by commuters working in nearby Glasgow, but the area retains its own industry, especially related to the Forth and Clyde Canal and is also popular with tourists visiting the many sites of interest as well as enjoying the regions golf courses. Other key local employers include the Royal Navy, whose base on the River Clyde is home to the nation’s fleet of Trident Nuclear Submarines.
