Solicitors in Ayrshire
Ayrshire is a coastal county in south-west Scotland perhaps best known for its links golf courses. I particular, the course at Prestwick, where the Open Championships was conceived and held some 24 times and also the Royal Troon course which has hosted the same Championships some eight times since 1924. The principal towns in Ayrshire are Ayr itself, Kilmarnock and Irvine, with the county as a whole being home to just under 400,000 people.
Ayrshire has long been an industrial region, with steel and coal prominent above many others. Its towns have played host to manufacturing, most notably the Jonnie Walker whisky factory in Kilmarnock, and the various aviation industries based around Prestwick airport. The port on the River Ayr still exports some coal and railway sidings by sea.

There are Sheriff’s Courts and Justice of the Peace Courts based in the towns of Ayr and Kilmarnock, hearing both civil and criminal matters both major and minor. Irvine has a Justice of the Peace Court only, hearing minor criminal matters.
