Compromise agreements

The necessity of a compromise agreement may only crop up once or twice in your lifetime, but it is absolutely essential to have an employment solicitor look through it before you sign anything.

Equally, if you are preparing the agreement it is vital to have a solicitor confirm that it conforms to all relevant rules and regulations.

If you have a grievance and it looks as if that grievance is going all the way to an employment tribunal, your employer may well offer you a compromise agreement. It will contain clauses, offers, and requirements and there is a strict set of rules regarding how they are set out. An employment solicitor will be able to inform you as to whether it is legal, gives you a fair offer and contains any hidden clauses or not.
