Solicitors in Inverness
Inverness derives its names from the River Ness. Its history can be traced back to the Picts who used the town as their stronghold around 565 AD. Inverness is also often called the capital of the Highlands, and became a royal burgh thanks to King David I, who also built Inverness Castle.
The town has continued to develop moving through very troubled times in the 16th and 17th centuries. Today, Inverness is the centre for several industries including distilling, engineering and shipbuilding. Inverness has also become the home of some high-technology companies.
Inverness became a city in 2000. The city continues to be a busy port handling a wide range of goods, but focusing mostly on timber and oil imports. Tourism is also now a major draw to the town. As the population of Inverness is less than 60,000 the number of solicitors in Inverness is limited. Depending on your precise needs, you may have to travel to a larger town or city to locate the services you require. Contact Law will be able to help you further with this.
The city does, however, have its own Sheriff’s Court. You can locate the court at:
