Our History

Contact Law is the UK’s leading provider of client-solicitor introductions. We set ourselves up to make it easier for consumers and businesses to select the best solicitor for their needs. We also provide a simple and effective way for law firms to market themselves to these clients.

Contact Law was formed in January 2006 and operates in Earlsfield, south west London. Since then we have carefully selected and grown our network of solicitors, which has now grown to more than 5,000 solicitors across the UK. At the same time, the number of clients we receive has also grown rapidly, with our website alone receiving more than 100,000 visitors every month. We also write a legal blog every day, reporting on the key legal stories of the day.

Expanding professional referral services

We have also branched out into new areas, such as recommending mediators, barristers and financial advisors. We can now also assist our customers in finding criminal solicitors, in addition to our main civil law solicitor referral service.

International presence

We have an established presence overseas, with solicitors in several countries including Spain, Ireland, South Africa, France, Italy, China and India. We are currently expanding our solicitor networks overseas, both in terms of bringing additional solicitors into our network and spreading into new countries.

Strong support

In 2009 Contact Law was acquired by FindLaw, a Thomson Reuters business. FindLaw is the world's leading provider of online legal information and internet marketing solutions for law firms. We also now run findlaw.co.uk, an incredible resource of legal information. In December 2011 we launched a specific solicitor directory on findlaw.co.uk, with a unique method of matching clients to firms by specific niche areas of law.
