Information on Employment Law

Employment-law information can be found from various different sources. A wealth of information is accessible online as a number of different websites contain employment-law information. Some government internet sites contain information and guidance on various areas of employment law. For example, there is information on basic employment rights, such as the right to be paid a minimum wage. There is also information and guidance targeted at employers; for example, guidance on how to implement statutory grievance procedures to ensure compliance with employment regulations.

In addition to government websites, information on employment law can be found on various other websites. Employment law firms often provide basic information on employment law matters on their website. However, they often warn viewers of their sites that the employment-law information they provide is for guidance only and does not constitute legal advice. You should be cautious about the legal information and guidance that you find on various different websites, as most websites cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information provided. In addition to this, some of the law quoted on websites may be outdated. Contact Law is somewhat different to this, as we aim to help you speak directly to a solicitor who will be able to give you the latest information.

You can also find information on employment law at your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau (CAB). You will usually find your nearest CAB at your local civic centre. There are also various employment law textbooks and handbooks which also provide detailed employment-law information. If you require specific employment law advice, it is best to contact a specialist solicitor.
