It may be that your only course of action is to go to court for an injunction to stop the violence that you are suffering from. Your rights under the Family Law Act 1996 allow the court to grant what are called non-molestation orders. Solicitors who deal with domestic violence can help you with your case at every stage, and can also give you initial advice about your case especially if you want to make an application for divorce.

Solicitors who deal with domestic violence are also essential if you want to go to court to settle custody of your children, or you want a divorce from your spouse. If your spouse contests your application for divorce, domestic violence solicitors are vital, as they have a detailed understanding of family law and can give your case the best chance of success.
