Compensation for personal injury

If you have suffered an accident due to someone else’s negligence, you may be able to claim compensation for personal injury. The judge will look out how much money you have already lost from having the injury - including loss of earnings, medical bills, cost of nursing care and other financial losses up to the date of the hearing. The judge will then look at how much money you are likely to lose in the future and will look at the pain and suffering you have endured as the result of your injuries. The judge will then give a figure that the defendant must pay the claimant in damages.
